Immy was drawn to woodturning after retiring from his career as a civil engineer. Initially self taught, and with an interest in figuring out how things work, Immy took every challenge in his stride, fast acquiring skills many take years to develop. He is always learning, and actively seeks to collaborate with fellow crafters.

Based in Cardiff, he makes his products using locally sourced recycled or sustainable woods. He strives to achieve a high quality finish on every piece.

Questions that start with “can you make…” will always attract his interest, and commissions are welcomed, however difficult they may seem.

Immy takes part in numerous craft fayres throughout the year, and has succesfully taught woodturning to complete beginners. Having worked in schools with GCSE and A level students, he now runs courses with the Rural Skills Centre (details here).

Other venues are being planned.
